Overview

Serena Thomas (she/her) represents clients in civil litigation, employment law, and workers’ compensation matters. Originally joining Nyhan in 2017 as a paralegal, Serena has gained considerable knowledge of issues impacting her clients during her time with the firm.

Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, Serena always took pride in her academic studies and knew at an early age that she wanted to become a lawyer. Therefore, she worked her way from the bottom-up as a file clerk, legal assistant, paralegal, law clerk, and now associate.

After earning her undergraduate degree, Serena pursued her Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Paralegal Studies with honors at Roosevelt University in 2013 and later received her J.D. from University of Illinois Chicago School of Law in 2020.

Outside of the office, Serena enjoys spending time with her family and trying new recipes.
