Overview
Ross Murphy concentrates his practice in workers’ compensation, conducting depositions as part of the discovery process, in-depth research on complex issues and actively participating in regular status calls with the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission to address case status updates and procedural matters.
Prior to joining the firm, Ross was an associate attorney at a civil litigation law firm in Chicago, serving as a key liaison for employers and insurance companies throughout the workers’ compensation claims process. In this capacity, he conducted thorough research and leveraged diverse legal resources to ensure precision and achieve favorable outcomes.
While in law school, Ross gained experience clerking at a law firm that concentrated in workers’ compensation and personal injury cases for plaintiffs and petitioners. He also clerked in a real estate tax appeal firm as well as a firm focusing on business, commercial real estate, and estate planning law. In these roles, Ross assisted litigation departments, developed his drafting skills to produce multiple contracts and documents related to client issues, and communicated with clients as needed. These experiences provided him with a solid foundation in the legal profession and has enabled him to develop the skills necessary to effectively advocate on behalf of clients.
In his free time, he enjoys exploring the many entertainment attractions Chicago has to offer and visiting with friends and family.
