Nyhan Shareholders Amy Bilton and Christine Jagodzinski are featured in Chicago Lawyers’ 2023 Salute! Top Women in Law issue.

Chicago Lawyer and Chicago Daily Law Bulletin have been showcasing women leaders in Chicago’s legal community for four years, sifting through hundreds of nominees to discover the most impactful leaders in the field. Amy and Christine were selected for their strong track records of career success, mentorship, and civic engagement.

Amy Bilton has been a nationally recognized workers’ compensation defense and Medicare Secondary Payer attorney for 25 years, helping clients sort through legal complications related to all areas of insurance. As Nyhan’s first woman shareholder and a member of the firm’s Management Committee, Amy has created an approachable environment through mentorship, an open-door policy for colleagues, and genuine relationship-building, especially with fellow women.

Amy is active in various professional and civic organizations. She is an active member of the College of Workers’ Compensation Lawyers, the National Medicare Secondary Payer Network, and the Illinois Workers Compensation Lawyers Association. She is a member of the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Advisory Board, Chairperson of the International Commission on Healthcare Certification’s Medicare Set-Aside Consultant Certification and an instructor for Certified Medicare Secondary Payer Professional and Fellow classes. Outside of her practice, Amy sits on the board of Habitat for Humanity Chicago, where she plays a leadership role in the annual Women Build program and works toward raising funds to combat disinvestment by creating affordable housing. She is also Treasurer and Past President of the Commercial Park Advisory Council, which provides programming and safe spaces for youths, adults, and at-risk individuals.

Christine Jagodzinski is a workers’ compensation and employment law attorney and one of three women shareholders at Nyhan. Christine sits on the Nyhan Board of Directors and Management Committee, and just completed a three-year term on Nyhan’s DEI Council. Christine’s colleagues describe her as a team player with natural leadership skills and an innovative mindset who is committed to uplifting women in the workplace.

Christine regularly shares her knowledge on insurance and workers’ compensation through speaking engagements, notably at Illinois Self-Insurer’s Association Nuts & Bolts Seminars and Annual Meetings as well as at the National Business Institute. In addition to her service as Vice President of the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Lawyers Association’s Board and Sponsorship Committee, she is a regular volunteer for Habitat for Humanity Chicago.
