Joshua Luskin Appointed to Immigration Judge

Joshua D. Luskin, Immigration Judge, Chicago Immigration Court

Attorney General William Barr appointed Joshua D. Luskin to begin hearing cases in October
2019. Judge Luskin earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1994 from Macalester College and a Juris
Doctor in 1997 from the University of Michigan. From 2015 to 2019, he served as commissioner
at the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission. From 2011 to 2015, he served as arbitrator
at the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission. From 2003 to 2011, he was in private
practice at the litigation firm of Nyhan, Bambrick, Kinzie & Lowry. From 2000 to 2003, he
served as a judge advocate for the U.S. Navy. In 1999, he served as of counsel to the State’s
Attorney’s Appellate Prosecutor’s Office, in Illinois. In 1998, he served as an assistant state’s
attorney, in Champaign County, Illinois. Judge Luskin is a member of the Illinois State Bar.
