Nyhan’s Firm Culture Highlighted with Selection as a Chicago 2024 Best Places to Work
Nyhan is proud to announce that in addition to providing exceptional legal services to our clients, our firm has been recognized as one of Crain’s 2024 Best Places to Work in Chicago.
This award was open to all privately and publicly owned businesses with at least 25 employees in the Chicagoland area, with selections made based on a two-part survey that included an employer questionnaire and a confidential employee survey used to evaluate the workplace experience and culture.
This recognition highlights Nyhan’s dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as our focus on developing the next generation of leaders and providing them with a flexible and supportive environment, with hybrid and work-from-home-arrangements that lend to a healthier work-life balance.
From the employee survey, one firm member noted: “The organization has created an environment that promotes and encourages respect for personnel at all levels and positions and truly strives to make the organization feel like a family as opposed to just a job, organization, or employer. There is a strong commitment to providing training and mentoring for employees at all levels, offering opportunities for career development and a flexible work environment.”
In the firm’s Best Places to Work spotlight, Bill Lowry, Nyhan firm president, discussed how the firm strives to foster a workplace where individuals from all backgrounds are given the opportunity to excel. He shared, “Employees are drawn to Nyhan because of our stellar reputation, but employees stay here because of the people — people who are celebrated for the diversity that they represent. […] It’s the people and the relationships. That’s our secret sauce.”
When it comes to prioritizing the professional growth of the team, the firm promotes a training program and attorney mentorship opportunities. Robert Harrington Jr., Nyhan’s managing shareholder explained, “We have a robust, polished training program that starts when they’re still in law school. We interview law students right after they finish their first year, and they join us for 10 weeks after their second year. They get to shadow us and see what it’s like to be an attorney.”
Also discussed in the feature is Nyhan’s commitment to engaging with our team outside the office, actively encouraging participation in volunteer and charitable activities that strengthen our connection to our community.
Nyhan is a dynamic, diverse, and dedicated community of experienced attorneys and support professionals who listen, pursue excellence, keep promises, and deliver immediate results related to Workers’ Compensation, Employment, Medicare Secondary Payer Compliance, as well as Civil Litigation and Employee Workers’ Compensation Fraud matters.
