Cody D. Hartman

Overview

Cody (he/him) focuses his practice on workers’ compensation and workers’ compensation fraud matters. He advises clients throughout the State of Illinois, with a significant portion of his work centered in the healthcare, logistics, and construction industries.

Raised in a family of tradesmen, Cody began his career in concrete construction, welding, and residential remodeling. This hands-on experience provides him with practical insight into the industries his clients operate in and informs his pragmatic, results-oriented approach to resolving complex workers’ compensation claims.

In 2025, Cody was selected for the 40 Under Forty distinction, which recognizes attorneys under the age of 40 for professional achievement and leadership in the legal community.

Cody is a frequent lecturer for the Illinois Self-Insurers’ Association and at client seminars. He also presents to nurse associations on workers’ compensation topics, offering practical guidance on claims handling and compliance issues. Within his firm, he serves as a mentor to junior attorneys.

Outside of his practice, Cody enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and residential remodeling. He is a frequent volunteer with Habitat for Humanity.
