John A. Morris

Overview

John Morris (he/him) focuses his practice on workers’ compensation matters. He has extensive experience representing employers and insurance companies through the claims process in circuit and appellate courts as well as before the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission. In these arenas, he has successfully tried multiple cases before arbitrators, presented oral arguments before the commission, and written briefs for the Illinois Appellate Court.

Prior to joining the firm, John served as a workers’ compensation attorney at a Chicago law firm for over a decade, where he defended employers in a wide variety of workers’ compensation matters and performed evidence depositions of treating and independent medical examiners. He also gained experience as a law clerk at the Felony Trial Division of the Office of Cook County Public Defender.

Outside of work, John enjoys spending time with his family and dog, reading, traveling, and rooting for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Lakers, and, by marriage, the Ohio State Buckeyes.
