Overview


Nicole Eatmon (she/her) focuses her practice on workers’ compensation, bringing a strong foundation in employment law, including counseling on risk management strategies, preparing employment agreements and workplace policies, and advising clients on compliance with federal, state, and local labor regulations. From this experience, Nicole excels at defending employers before federal, state, and local agencies as well as conducting legal research, drafting litigation strategy memoranda, advising on evolving regulations, preparing motions and discovery responses, and supporting claimants through the deposition process.

She has defended cases before the EEOC, IDHR, CCHR, and USDOL, handling claims involving discrimination, retaliation, and unfair labor practices. She also advised clients on workforce restructuring, including reductions in force, employee terminations, and diversity considerations. Before rejoining the firm, Nicole gained valuable experience as an associate at a national labor and employment law firm.

During law school, Nicole clerked at Nyhan, where she contributed to workers’ compensation matters, developing strong analytical and case assessment skills. She also served as a legal extern at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and later worked as a judicial extern in 2022 for the Honorable Freddrenna Lyle, Cook County Circuit Court, Chancery Division, who currently serves on the Illinois Appellate Court, First District.

As part of her clinical coursework, Nicole participated in the Women and Children’s Human Rights Advocacy: International and Domestic clinic group, where she assisted her clients in submitting complaints to the United Nations Working Group on Arbitrary Detention. She also worked with the Rodrick & Solange MacArthur Justice Center in the appellate group of the Civil Rights Litigation Clinic, aiding incarcerated and formerly incarcerated clients appealing the dismissal of their Monell claims.

Representative Matters


  • Defense co-counsel in pro bono matter involving complex civil claims brought under the federal Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act (TVPRA), the Illinois Trafficking Victims Protection Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), the Illinois Wage Payment and Collection Act (IWPCA), and the Cook County Minimum Wage Ordinance. Led the settlement conference, which resulted in a favorable resolution for all parties.
