William Lowry to Receive White House Honor: 2023 Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award

Nyhan President Bill Lowry has been awarded the 2023 President Joseph R. Biden Jr. Lifetime Achievement Award and will be presented with the award by the Southland Black Chamber of Commerce & Industry at the organization’s Annual Christmas Party & Awards Ceremony. The event will held at Robbins Community Center on December 7, 2023 from 6 – 10 pm CT.

As part of the President’s Volunteer Service Award Program, this award is the highest in the country for volunteer services and recognizes those who have:

  1. Made major differences within their communities and around the world
  2. Volunteered more than 4000+ hours of service throughout their lifetime

Throughout his more than 30-year career, Bill has shown unwavering commitment to not only the legal profession but also to community care and local politics, furthering helping Nyhan, a firm dedicated to pro bono work and community engagement of which he helped found, to foster a culture of service.

Since 2018, Bill has served as the Cook County Commissioner of the 3rd District, where he has made immense community transformations that promote social equity and economic participation for all individuals. In addition, and on top of his involvement in various legal associations, he is a member of the Bright Star Community Outreach and the Get In Chicago Advisory Network, as well as the founder of The It’s Time Organization, all organizations concerned with curbing youth violence in Chicago.
