Overview


Padraig McCoid (he/him) focuses on workers’ compensation defense matters. He assists employers and insurance companies with navigating workers’ compensation cases. His experience includes providing case analysis, developing legal strategies, and mitigating clients’ exposure for medical bills by utilizing the Illinois fee schedule.

Before joining Nyhan, Padraig worked at a global litigation support firm where he planned, prioritized, and managed teams to execute major projects for Fortune 500 companies. He is licensed in Illinois, the Northern District of Illinois, and Wisconsin.

Padraig graduated cum laude from Loyola Chicago School of Law. Before law school, he attended University of North Florida and University of Pittsburgh.

Representative Matters


  • Represented an Illinois insurance carrier in a workers’ compensation claim involving claims for benefits of approximately $290,000.00. After working with his client to build a strong defense based on inconsistent statements by the Petitioner, the Arbitrator, and Commission found our client owed no benefits.

Pro Bono Representation

  • Following law school, Padraig volunteered at CARPLS, Family Defense Center, and Legal Assistance Foundation. He represented and advised low-income individuals in matters involving housing, consumer rights, and domestic relations issues. Padraig was part of the inaugural class of the Chicago Bar Association’s Justice Entrepreneurs Project, an incubator for law firms dedicated to providing limited scope representation to low- and middle-income individuals.
