Nyhan is proud of the firm’s Charitable Committee for their dedicated volunteering efforts to serve our community throughout 2023.

While the committee includes dedicated members, other individuals in the firm frequently participate in the firm’s volunteer events.

A recap of 2023 events include:

  • The committee led a pro-bono workshop and a Senior Center initiative in June with the Center for Disability and Elder Law, an organization that provides free legal services to low-income seniors and people with disabilities throughout Cook County.
  • In August, our team participated in Race Judicata. All proceeds from the event went towards the operating costs of the Chicago Volunteer Legal Services, a voluntary pro-bono legal representation organization serving the Chicago community.
  • Annually, the firm participates in Habitat for Humanity’s builds. This year the committee helped construct two homes, with work including building hurricane braces and staircases and installing siding. Habitat for Humanity Chicago is a non-profit organization that assists families and communities achieve strength, stability and self-reliance through safe and affordable homeownership, neighborhood beautification and development projects.
  • In December, we partnered with Misericordia Home, an organization that provides care to maximize the potential for persons with mild to profound developmental disabilities.

An integral component of our firm’s mission is engaging with and giving back to the greater communities that we serve.

Whether through our extensive dedication to legal pro bono work or our attorney and employee involvement in community service projects and programs of personal importance, Nyhan remains committed to positively impacting society in all we do.
