Five Nyhan Attorneys to Share Insights at ISIA’s 45th Annual Meeting & Educational Seminar

Select Nyhan attorneys will participate in the upcoming collaborative annual seminar jointly hosted by the Illinois Chamber of Commerce and the Illinois Self-Insurers’ Association (ISIA) set to take place on Tuesday, October 17 at the DoubleTree Hilton Lisle from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

The seminar will include a variety of workshops and discussions, and firm attorneys will participate in the following presentation:

8:30 – 9 a.m.: As the Executive Director of the ISIA, Keith Herman will join Illinois Chamber of Commerce and ISIA leadership to provide an introducation and opening remarks.

9 – 9:45 a.m.: Thereafter and as part of the General Session, Lisa Azoory-Keller and Adam Cox will join other legal professionals in providing case law updates, recent developments in Springfield and current issues and trends at the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission.

10:15 – 11:05 a.m.: Norman Burdick will lead the third workshop, in a series of four, on “Illinois Workers’ Compensation Fraud Law and Practice” to share:

• Tactics employees use to commit workers’ compensation fraud
• An in-depth analysis of relevant provisions of the Worker’s Compensation Fraud Act
• Guidance on filing a criminal workers’ compensation fraud complaint
• The penalties that are imposed on employees upon conviction
• Examples of previous fraudulent cases

3 – 3:45 p.m.: In the Roundtable Discussion with Q&A, Christopher Gibbons will help discuss how obesity drives cost and risk.
