Overview

Lisa Azoory-Keller (she/her) concentrates her practice exclusively on workers’ compensation matters with a passion for representing employers across the state of Illinois. Lisa has extensive trial experience, enjoys tackling complex cases, and values learning about developing areas of workers’ compensation law. She has more than a decade of experience defending employers, and has also represented an injured worker at her former firm. Lisa’s former experience as a petitioner’s attorney has given her unique insight into the motivations of injured workers and attorneys, which aids in her defense strategy.

Throughout her tenure at Nyhan, Lisa has published a long list of articles relating to claim compensability, new case law, and legislative updates thus positioning her as clients’ go-to attorney when in need of experienced and knowledgeable representation. She has also contributed two published articles for the Illinois Manufacturer’s League Magazine on the subjects of COVID-19 and HIPAA in the context of workers’ compensation. Understanding the importance of informing clients of evolving policy, Lisa also ensures legal updates get out to clients as soon as possible in her current capacity as co-chairperson of the firm’s Blog Committee.

Lisa’s philosophy on claims’ handling reflects her passion for defending business, while also listening to the client’s needs and being attune to case resolution.

Outside of her legal practice, Lisa can usually be found playing tennis with her three children, who are now consistently beating her. Lisa takes pride in the fact that her children know nothing about Illinois Workers’ Compensation.
